I feel bad I never left a review! Michael refinished my hardwoods and installed my vinyl plank flooring 4 or 5 years ago. He was so great to work with and his finished work was fantastic. I’d hire him again and I just recommended him to a friend. Such a nice gentleman and a very good business to work with!

They were very professional and thorough in their evaluation at the end, they left me with a quote. As a result, they came back the next day and sanded our floors, upon completion, they also spot stained the knots to help them blend in better and offered suggestions of finishing as well. We had our old, beat-up hardwood floors refinished and we couldn’t be happier! Michael, the owner, was very straightforward with us about expectations and limitations. He quoted us an exact project length and said they wouldn’t differ from the plan, and that was 100% true. Not a thing was different from what we were told upfront. The house looks so much brighter!

Michael and his team did excellent work. Our home is 120 years old and they matched the new hardwood to the old, original hardwood perfectly. The floors are perfectly level and quiet, and the finish is durable and beautiful.

Nicole (his wife) handled all the booking details of the project and was extremely knowledgeable herself about the whole process. 11/24 Ann Arbor Hardwoods replaced our kitchen floor, damaged by water, and refinished the main floor to match the kitchen. We highly recommend them. The entire process is well organized, and they did what they said they were going to do. Started and finished on time. Mike and his crew are very professional. He was transparent and we valued his opinion on work that had to be done and hardwood choices. We are thrilled with the final product, particularly the choice in the wide engineered hardwood. We are currently working with him on some additional work and he was flexible with making that reasonably priced. Of note, for payments there is a transaction fee, so consider asking for fewer installments to minimize if possible.

11/24 Ann Arbor Hardwoods replaced our kitchen floor, damaged by water, and refinished the main floor to match the kitchen. We highly recommend them. The entire process is well organized, and they did what they said they were going to do. Started and finished on time. Equally important, they followed up immediately when requested to address a question and repair. A pleasure to work with.

Mike and his crew are very professional. He was transparent and we valued his opinion on work that had to be done and hardwood choices. We are thrilled with the final product, particularly the choice in the wide engineered hardwood. We are currently working with him on some additional work and he was flexible with making that reasonably priced. I replaced carpet in one room of our house with oak to match the wood floors on the rest of the floor. I thought sanding would have been an easy final step to the installation process. When I went to sand the floors with rental equipment I failed miserably, and was disappointed in the lack of results after sanding for two days. That is when I call Ann Arbor Hardwoods. They were extremely helpful and easy to work with, MIchael & Tom were at my house with in the hour of me calling. They were very professional and thorough in their evaluation at the end, they left me with a quote. As a result, they came back the next day and sanded our floors, upon completion, they also spot stained the knots to help them blend in better and offered suggestions of finishing as well. I really enjoyed working with Ann Arbor Hardwoods, and would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Michael and team installed hardwood flooring in our home this winter. The project was large, and full of challenges from the original flooring that they had to deal with. The team did a great job, and the end product looks amazing. We’d definitely hire them again.

In June 2016 we needed work done on our hardwood floors, which had been affectionately called Jackson Pollock floors due to the splattered nature of the paint and other stuff on the surface. Michael and the A2 hardwood crew installed new hardwood floors in my condo while also refinishing the existing flooring in the entryway. I’d seen their work at a few other residences and knew this is the contractor I wanted to go with.

They were professional, expedient and very detailed oriented. Michael is very much a detail person and wants everything to be perfect.

There are certainly cheaper alternatives to real hardwood installations but they’re not remotely the similar quality and experience and if you want real authentic hardwood installed or refinished it’s crucial you go with someone like A2 hardwoods who knows their stuff.

AA hardwoods just completed a number of rooms along with a refinish of my existing floors. They were able to match the new floors to the existing floors perfectly! The installation crew are true gentlemen, and never swore, smoked, or left a mess behind. The job took around 4 weeks, and left very little dust considering all the sanding they did. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for the best workmanship possible. True craftsmen.

AA Hardwoods did an amazing job refinishing the original oak floor in our home. I had previously done a “homeowner DIY” refinishing job on the floor in one room, so I thought I knew what was possible. Boy, was I wrong! They sanded and stained the floor (including the area I had attempted previously) and it looks like a new floor. Truly, I had no idea it could look this good. Their attention to detail was fantastic, they even noticed and repaired some splits and gouges in the wood that I had not even noticed before. The “dustless” system was incredible (MUCH less mess than my own experience with a drum sander!). They even worked with me to help match the new color to a different prefinished oak flooring that we had newly installed in an adjacent room. In addition to refinishing the floor, they also installed new flush-mount floor vents and created a custom transition strip for a doorway. Thank you, AA Hardwoods!

Ann Arbor Hardwoods was AMAZING! They pulled out carpet in my living room, replaced it with new hardwood and then sanded ALL the hardwood flooring in my house. They stained it with the beautiful “Aged Barrel” stain!

From start to finish, the level of professionalism is unmatched. The owner, Michael, came to personally do the measurements and quotes. Every detail was itemized and displayed in drawings given to us.

Start of Project was on-time. The knowledge and capability of the foreman and crew were exceptional. Most days, they let us know where they were at in the project and what is upcoming.

We ran into one hiccup but was simply a communication break-down some place. But, like a great professional, they handled the situation with flexibility and understanding and we were able to come to a compromise.

Compared to other places, they gave us a cheaper project quote but gave us at least with the same level of care and quality as you would expect from the higher priced quotes if not better!

Put it simply, if I have another flooring job, I will look to them first!

We recently hired Ann Arbor Hardwoods to refinish our Read Oak Hardwood Kitchen Floor. It had been several years since we had done any work on the floor. There were scratches from kitchen chairs, water stains from a leaking skylight, and overall wear and tear all over the floor. It was in bad shape. From the very beginning of the process, Ann Arbor Hardwoods was professional, experienced, reliable, and competent. Michael took his time to explain their process and lay a foundation for what to expect. The craftsmen were personable, courteous, and exceptionally clean. There was minimal dust and they used plastic to protect the rest of the house. Most of all, they were thorough with close attention to detail. They went above and beyond to make sure all our final concerns, which were few, were taken care of to our expectations. We enjoyed having them in our home. We would give them a 12 out of 10, with 10 being the highest degree of satisfaction with their work. We are considering putting hardwood flooring in the rest of our house and wouldn’t hesitate to have them do the work.

11/24 Ann Arbor Hardwoods replaced our kitchen floor, damaged by water, and refinished the main floor to match the kitchen. We highly recommend them. The entire process is well organized, and they did what they said they were going to do. Started and finished on time.
