Ann Arbor Hardwoods is a small family owned and run company. The owners Michael and Nicole Cornaire, play a large role in the company’s day to day operations. Michael, who has been in the flooring industry since 1998, does the Estimating, Sales, Client Communication, Quality Control, and client walkthroughs. While Nicole handles all of the company’s Bookkeeping needs, Scheduling, Contracts, and handles the Human Resource needs of the Company.
Making our business successful is important, but not at the cost of our employees. We properly compensate our skilled workers and help them to enhance their knowledge through the National Wood Flooring Association with skills that can be used industry wide. Proven Process
Discovery & Estimate
We begin with an in-home consultation to assess your space and understand your vision. During this visit, we help you select your wood type and finish style, take precise measurements, and provide a detailed estimate. You’ll get expert guidance and a clear understanding of what to expect.
Scheduling, Contract & Deposit
Once you approve your estimate, we lock in your project on the calendar, finalize your contract, and collect a deposit to secure your spot. You’ll receive a clear project timeline and prep checklist to help you get ready.
Pre-Job Prep (Client Responsibility)
Before work begins, we ask that all furniture be removed and any necessary water or gas lines disconnected. Please refer to your contract for a list of trusted professionals who can assist with moving or disconnections if needed.
Expert Installation, Sanding & Finishing
When new wood is installed, it will be delivered one week before the start date for acclimation. Our certified team gets to work with dustless sanding systems and premium finishes. If your project includes refinishing, stain colors are finalized during this step with on-site samples. We take care to protect your home, stick to the schedule, and deliver exceptional craftsmanship every step of the way.
Final Walkthrough, Touch-Ups & Final Payment
Once the floors are complete, we will need to return in 1-2 business days to perform an inspection and make any necessary touch-ups after the finish has dried. Once inspection is complete, we will then conduct a client walkthrough, and final payment will be collected at this time via check, electronic ACH, or credit card.
Warranty & Ongoing Maintenance
We provide warranty documentation and product-specific care instructions for your floors. Our relationship doesn’t end here—we offer deep cleaning, screening & recoating services, and future refinishing when the time comes. Think of us as your flooring partner for the life of your home.
